Well winter in finally over and Sumer has arrived! Mother Nature decides to interrupt our aquatic eco system every four years or so. A biologist friend told me back in 1968 that Mother Nature takes care of the fishing industry. Every three to four years we experience a “healthy winter” here on the coast, and this year we did just that. This year fishing will be at its best.The land cut is still producing nice trout from the Gulf of Mexico. Redfish are being caught in the nine mile hole area. Baffin Bay is producing large trout up to 8 lbs. Upper Laguna Madre has everything including Trout, Flounder, Reds, and Drum. Live shrimp has been the bait of choice, and we’ve got plenty. We will be getting croaker in around June 10th. That’s all for now and remember to be cautious and stay safe out on the water.
